We offer unlined, lined or interlined for all silk valances except double layer where we will always line them to ensure that they lay flat. Heading options are pencil pleat, goblet pleat, triple pinch pleat or double pinch pleat.

How to measure valances

Measuring for valances


Width
Measure the distance between A and B and add any returns to the wall. If there are returns then you would be measuring three separate lengths and then adding them together.

Drop
Measure the distance between C (which is the very top of the track) and D (which is your desired drop of the silk curtain valance).

Please note that for shaped valances C to D should be your desired lowest point of the shape.

Q. Are silk valances suitable for curtains poles?
A. No they are only designed for tracks, ether a valance double track or two singles position at your desired distance apart if they are gong to be ceiling mounted. We can advise you on all aspects of measuring, suitable tracks and fitting of curtains valances.

Q. Should I have the same curtain heading as valance heading?
A. You can do, but in the case of a silk triple pleat, silk double pleat or silk goblet pleat valance it would be more economical for you to have silk pencil pleat curtains because they use less fabric and the curtain heading would not be visible due to the valance in front of it.
